3D-Models, virtual reconstructions and interpreted point clouds are since some time omnipresent
in Architectural History and Building Archeology. Usually the underlying complex
elaboration processes are not apparent in the result. Backed by the London Charter for
the computer-based visualisation of cultural heritage, there are a lot of efforts to integrate
(1) information about human processes of understanding and interpretation of data objects
(paradata) and (2) information about semiautomated interpretation processes into a
scientifically valid computer model. The international conference not just shows the state of
the art. It aims to bring together major exponents in the field, to discuss emerging standards
and to disseminate shared best practices which enable us to fully exploit the potential
of digital Architectural History.
