Study Program

Master of architecture students (MA-A) at IfA have the unique opportunity to participate in the Dual Master of Architecture Program between Tsinghua University and TU Berlin. Upon successful graduation, students are awarded a Master of Architecture from Tsinghua University and a Master of Science from TU Berlin. The first year of the Dual Master Program takes place at TU Berlin and architecture students follow the regular courses offered at IfA. The second year TU Berlin students continue their studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Tsinghua University is the most prestigious university in China. The School of Architecture at Tsinghua has been ranked China Number 1 and Global Number 9 in the world of architecture (2022 QS World Rankings). The university is located in Beijing, situated on the former site of the Qing Dynasty royal gardens and retains Chinese-style landscaping and traditional buildings.

The Dual Master Program is tuition free. We are currently applying for financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). While staying at Tsinghua University, students enrolled in the program would, in case of a successful application, financially supported for the duration of one year. The scholarship covers 450€ monthly, as well as a contribution to the travel expenses in the amount of 825 €.
