Lehrforschungsprojekt (German Speaking MA) & Design Studio 1 (M_ARCH_T):
Sara Ahmed’s book Living a Feminist Life contains a “Killjoy Survival Kit” of things that “I know I need to do and to have around me to keep on going on.” This is survival in terms of how to keep our hopes alive; how to hold on to projects and commitments that we have started.
This Student Research Project (Lehrforschungsprojekt, German Speaking MA) and Design Studio 1 (M_ARCH_T) based on critical spatial theory and practice, is a platform where research, design and build interact. With the intention physically both to inhabit the Survival Lounge and to debate existing Oral History interviews being challenged, we will create hybrid (physical and virtual) inhabitation and debate throughout the seminar. Inhabiting is understood as an underlying continuous and generative process for manifesting the potential of architecture to contribute to a more equal society.
The research and design work will find concrete expression as part of the IfA exhibition, [FRAU] ARCHITEKT*IN, opening at the TU Berlin on 3rdJune, 2021 and we will make an online exhibition with physical entrances for an existing interview series with 26 Berlin Architects*.
